Financial Assistance

Skiing and ski racing are exhilarating and dynamic, becoming more so the better one gets at it. At a minimum, a MARA athlete will devote almost 40 hours per season with a coach, having fun while striving to improve. Our most committed athletes can train for 400 hours in a season. Couple that with a ski pass, appropriate clothing, the possibility of a whole quiver of skis and travel expenses for older athletes and the expenses can be daunting.

It has been a long time MARA goal to offer financial assistance to families based on demonstrated need. Applications will be available for financial aid once enrollment is open. No athlete will have 100% of his or her fees waived. The club will do its best to help as many athletes as possible based on the finances available in the MARA Fund.

Each Financial Assistance Request Form must be submitted with a MARA Individual Membership Application, a copy of the latest family tax return(s) and a separate Financial Assistance Letter explaining your financial situation and why you believe you merit consideration for financial assistance. The application deadline is December 10th, 2011.

MARA also facilitates individual fundraising. It is possible for an athlete to pay for some or even all of their fees if they become involved with one or more of the projects provided by the club.

Read about the MARA Fund in the navigation bar and then read all of the sub-links in that category to learn everything you need to know.
