15-18 Years Old – U16/U18

15-18 Years Old – U16/U18

The U16/U18 program is geared towards the athlete who is focused and serious about their ski racing. Training sessions will be customized for each athlete and the focus is on refining skills to the highest level. Goal setting and performance planning is crucial in order to design training schedules that fit the needs and commitment of each athlete.

The U16/U18 Teams train in Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G and Downhill. The athletes are expected to arrive at training prepared to work with their equipment in excellent condition. The dry land program is a major component of this program and participation is highly recommended. The training sessions are largely centered on skill refinement and gate training with video analysis and timed runs. Free skiing will still be a vital part of the program and coaches will utilize our terrain to aid in athletic skill and mental development.

Abilities

All athletes must be comfortable skiing the entire mountain in all snow conditions and should have prior race experience. Athletes who are not comfortable skiing the entire mountain on all snow conditions and do not have sufficient race experience may be mixed with a U14 Team. The coaches of both, the U14 Teams and the U16/U18 Teams, work closely together to better evaluate and accommodate different ski and race levels.
