The Masters Race program is open to all Master’s and adult competitors 19 years and older. The one night a week program will focus on continuing the fundamental skill development, race skill development and competition. Daily program objectives will include skill progressions, directed free skiing, gate drills, gate training, video analysis and timing when appropriate.
Giant Slalom is the main focus of all gate training, with Slalom gate training as an option depending on requests and skill level. All athletes are encouraged to compete in our Masters Dual GS (included in the fees), as well as our other local races.
The Mt. Ashland Snowsports School also offers a Masters program focused on all-mountain skiing and improving fundamental skills. Participants of this program are welcome to compete in our Masters Dual GS race as well as the Sloan Cup Family Fun Race. Please visit the Mt. Ashland website for more information.
All athletes must be comfortable skiing the entire mountain.
MARA offers the following option for the Masters Race program:
Full Season (13 weeks) Friday only – 2 hours/day
The Masters Race Team, will start Friday, January 6th, 2012 from 9am -1pm.
Thursday Night Training will start on January 12th through March 8th, 2012, from 6.00pm – 8.00pm.
The Holiday Camp is currently scheduled for December 28th, 2011 – December 31st, 2011, from 10.00am – 3.00pm at Mt. Ashland. (The Holiday Camp is included in the fees)
Dryland training for 13 years and older athletes will start on October 25th through December 22nd, 2011. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm – 5pm and Saturdays from 11am – noon at Rogue Valley Crossfit. (Dry land training is included in the fees)
Race competition at this level is encouraged but not required.
